Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, powdered sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour and lukewarm milk, mixing until all ingredients are combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Cooling
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
- Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
Notes
Store wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze it completely cooled and wrapped properly.
