Method
Baking the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together.
- Add the softened butter, eggs, melted white chocolate, vanilla, and buttermilk. Mix until combined and smooth.
- Divide the batter between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Making the Cheesecake Filling
- Beat the cream cheese in a bowl until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the cream cheese mixture.
Assembling the Cake
- Place one layer of the cake on a serving plate.
- Spread half of the cheesecake filling over the cake layer.
- Top with the second layer and spread the remaining cheesecake filling on top.
- Decorate as desired and serve.
Notes
For an extra chocolatey flavor, you can add chocolate chips to the batter. Use room-temperature ingredients for the smoothest texture. Make the cheesecake a day in advance for better flavor development.
