- In a pot, combine water, gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, and minced garlic, and bring to a simmer.
- Add the sliced onion and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add the rice cakes to the pot and cook until they are soft and chewy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the green onions and cook for an additional minute.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.
Notes
Best served hot. Pair with pickled radish for a refreshing contrast. Optional: add boiled eggs, fish cake, or cheese for variation.
