Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it's at room temperature for easy mixing
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Softened for easy blending with cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Dark chocolate chips can be used for richer flavor.
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling Add on top before baking for contrast.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  3. Add granulated and brown sugars, mixing until well combined.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the cream cheese mixture, stirring to combine.
  6. Gently fold in the salted caramel sauce and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough before baking. Can substitute brown sugar with white sugar for a different flavor profile. Store in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature or freeze for up to three months.
