Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Cheesecake Layer
  • 0.5 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream
For Topping
  • Fresh strawberries for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Cheesecake Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  2. Once the cake is cool, spread the cream cheese mixture on top.
  3. Whip the heavy cream and spread it over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Top with fresh strawberries.
  5. Chill before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for the perfect creamy texture. Don't skip the chilling time to allow flavors to meld.
