Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4-6 pieces pork chops (bone-in or boneless, ½ to ¾ inch thick)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning (1 oz)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to help the seasoning stick and prevent steaming.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Toss the pork chops in the mixture until evenly coated, or simply sprinkle the mixture directly onto the chops in the slow cooker.
  4. Arrange the seasoned pork chops in a single layer inside the slow cooker.
  5. Pour the chicken broth over the pork chops.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours until the chops are tender and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  2. Near the end of cooking, check doneness with a meat thermometer. If the sauce is thin, remove the pork chops and cook uncovered on high for 15-20 minutes to reduce the liquid.
  3. Carefully remove the pork chops and spoon the cooking juices over the top before serving.

Notes

These pork chops keep well in the fridge for 3-4 days and can be frozen for 2-3 months. Reheat in the microwave or warm them up in a skillet. For a fun twist, swap out ranch seasoning for taco seasoning or use portobello mushrooms for a vegan alternative.
