Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, measure out 9 cups of rice cereal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1/4 cup of butter.

Coating and Setting
  1. Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar to the bag with the cereal.
  3. Seal the bag tightly and shake vigorously until all the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.

  5. Once cooled, transfer the puppy chow to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

Puppy Chow can be served in a bowl at parties or packed for road trips. Let it cool completely before storing to avoid a gooey mess. For a fun twist, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or some crushed pretzels.
