Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced Use fresh flank steak for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Can substitute with hoisin sauce if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch Helps to tenderize and thicken the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For frying.
For the Vegetables
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances flavor.
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil For finishing touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, toss the steak slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Add the marinated steak and stir-fry until browned, about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. Toss in the sliced bell peppers and onion to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes until slightly tender.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Return the steak to the skillet and pour in the beef broth, sugar, and black pepper; stir to combine.
  5. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the steak and veggies.
  6. Drizzle the sesame oil over the top, give a final stir, and remove from heat.

Notes

Serve this dish over steamed rice or in warm tortillas for a delightful meal. It also keeps well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
