Ingredients
  

For the Mozzarella Sticks
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese Cut into sticks, about 1/2 inch thick and 3 inches long.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs Whisked.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • oil for frying Heat to 350°F.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat a pot or deep fryer filled with oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 1/2 inch thick and 3 inches long.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the flour in another shallow dish.
  5. Whisk the eggs in a third shallow dish.
  6. Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, dip in the whisked eggs, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  7. Repeat the dredging process for a thicker coating if desired.
  8. Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat the oil to 350°F for frying.
  2. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove the mozzarella sticks with a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
  4. Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For thicker coating, repeat the dredging steps. You can make these mozzarella sticks vegan by using plant-based cheese and non-dairy milk instead of eggs. Adding freshly chopped parsley enhances presentation.
