Preparation
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them thinly.
- In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Remove the crusts from all bread slices.
Assembly
- Spread an even layer of whipped cream onto two of the bread slices.
- Arrange the strawberry slices over the whipped cream on each slice.
- Place the remaining two bread slices on top, cream side down, to form sandwiches.
- Wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Unwrap and slice the sandwiches diagonally before serving.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh! If you have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator wrapped tightly for 1-2 days. You can use a cookie cutter for fun shapes.
