Ingredients
  

Dough ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Oil for frying Use enough oil for deep frying.
Filling and Topping
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter to the flour mixture and knead until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into circles.
  6. Cover and let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the donuts until golden, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Filling
  1. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  2. Pipe the cream into cooled donuts.
Serving
  1. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.

Notes

For variations, consider adding citrus zest or vanilla extract. You can also fill with different toppings like nutella or fruit jam.
