Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Pork Chops (Bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (or olive oil)
  • 1 medium Onion (Chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Freshly minced)
  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • 2 cups Chicken or Beef Broth (Low-sodium)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (or Milk for a lighter version)
  • 4 medium Potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet, cut into chunks)
  • 1 tablespoon Herbs & Spices (Fresh thyme or rosemary)

Method

Preparation
  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the pan.
  3. Toss in the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute before gradually adding the broth. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  6. Place back the pork chops into the pan and add in the potatoes. Cover and let cook for about 30 minutes or until tender.
  7. Sprinkle with herbs before serving.

Notes

This dish keeps well in the fridge for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze for about 3 months. When reheating, add a splash of broth to restore creaminess.
