Ingredients
  

For the Twinkies
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Twinkie pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add in the softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow cooling in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Filling
  1. For the filling, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Once the Twinkies are cool, fill them with the cream mixture using a piping bag.

Notes

Serve fresh for the best taste. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for about a week. Bring to room temperature before serving.
