Ingredients

Meat mixture
  • 1 lb ground hamburger
  • 1/2 lb sausage
  • 1/2 lb pepperoni
Vegetables and seasoning
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Crust
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground hamburger, sausage, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until the meat is browned and the vegetables are soft. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the pepperoni, cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  5. Fill the crust with the meat and cheese mixture.
  6. Cover with another pie crust or create a lattice top with additional crust.
  7. Brush the top crust with beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  2. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Don't rush the browning process of the meats; it deepens the flavor tremendously. This pie keeps well in the fridge for about 3-4 days, and it can be frozen for up to 2 months.
