Preparation
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips or wedges.
- Soak the cut potatoes in water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a towel.
Frying
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle with salt and any optional seasonings before serving.
Notes
Leftover fries last about 3-5 days in the fridge when stored in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze completely cooled fries. Reheat in an oven or air fryer to regain crispiness.
