Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the bread from the inside to create a cavity.
- In a bowl, mix the cheese, vegetables, cooked protein, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Fill the hollowed-out bread with the mixture.
Baking
- Place the filled bread on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Garbage Bread can be customized with your choice of leftover ingredients and is a fun dish for kids to help with. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Bake from frozen with extra time.
