Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix the melted butter with the yellow cake mix until crumbly.
- Press half of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the cake mix layer.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
- Crumble the remaining cake mix over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, let the cake chill for at least 10 minutes before serving. Add a dusting of powdered sugar, serve with whipped cream, or pair with coffee or tea.
