Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Uniform thickness for even cooking
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use panko for extra crunch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the chicken
  • 2 pieces eggs, beaten For the egg wash
  • 4 slices ham Can substitute with turkey for lighter option
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Possibility to use different cheese for variation
  • 1/4 cup honey mustard sauce Can substitute with Dijon and honey/maple mix
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning
  • Oil for frying or baking For cooking the chicken

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if you’re baking.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat, and fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides (about 5-7 minutes each side). Alternatively, place the breaded chicken in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through.
  2. In the last few minutes of cooking, place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast, allowing the cheese to melt.
  3. Drizzle with honey mustard sauce before serving.

Notes

Serve with crispy fries or a fresh salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven for best results.
