Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine vegetable broth and smashed garlic over low heat.
  2. Simmer for a few minutes to infuse the garlic flavor.
  3. Add cream and whisk until combined and slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in lemon juice and cold butter until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently in a saucepan over low heat, adding a splash of water or broth if needed. You can add fresh herbs like parsley or dill for added flavor, a pinch of red pepper flakes for spice, or grated Parmesan for creaminess.
