  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced Choose tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of your apples.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats Can substitute with quick oats.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cranberries, apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Spread this mixture in a greased baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt.
  4. Crumble the oat mixture over the fruit layer in the baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the crisp cool completely, then cover it. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to two months. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
