Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm milk and melted butter, then mix until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, kneading until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Assembly
- Roll out the dough and cut into pieces.
- Place a tablespoon of vanilla custard and a few chocolate chips in the center of each piece, fold and shape into balls.
- Place in a greased baking dish.
- Let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a drizzle of chocolate sauce or powdered sugar. Best when paired with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
