Preparation
- Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions and bake.
- Once cooled, crumble the cake into a large bowl.
- Roll the crumbled cake into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Coating
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
- Dip the end of a lollipop stick into the melted chocolate, then insert it into a cake ball.
- Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
- Place on a baking sheet and decorate with sprinkles or additional coatings as desired.
- Let them set until the chocolate hardens.
Serving
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
Tips: Don’t skip chilling the cake balls to help them hold their shape. Store in the fridge for about a week or freeze for up to a month.
