Preparation
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Assembly & Cooking
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven and prepare garlic bread according to package instructions.
- Once the garlic bread is heated, spoon the beef mixture onto the bread slices.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve immediately, optionally with pickles and mustard.
Notes
These can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge. Can also freeze the beef mixture for up to 3 months. Don't skip toasting the garlic; it makes all the difference!
