Ingredients
  

For the Sloppy Joe Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef May swap with turkey or chicken.
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For Assembly
  • 4 slices garlic bread Prepare according to package instructions.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) Feel free to add more cheese for gooeyness.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: pickles and mustard for serving Customizable toppings.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Assembly & Cooking
  1. Meanwhile, preheat the oven and prepare garlic bread according to package instructions.
  2. Once the garlic bread is heated, spoon the beef mixture onto the bread slices.
  3. Top with shredded cheese.
  4. Place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve immediately, optionally with pickles and mustard.

Notes

These can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge. Can also freeze the beef mixture for up to 3 months. Don't skip toasting the garlic; it makes all the difference!
