Preparation and Baking
- Preheat your oven and prepare cake pans according to the cake mix package instructions.
- Bake the chocolate cake mix as directed and let cool.
Making the Frosting
- In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, combine softened butter, powdered sugar, caramel sauce, and vanilla until smooth to make the frosting.
Assembling the Cake
- Layer the cooled cake with frosting and toffee bits.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the top of the frosted cake.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
Pro Tip: Don’t rush the cooling process! Hot cake and frosting are not best friends. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days, or freeze individual slices for up to 3 months.
