  • 1 zest Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • optional powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the orange zest and orange juice.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw completely before serving. For best flavor, use fresh orange juice and do not overmix the batter.
